Operation Napoleon is a novel by Icelandic author Arnaldur Indriðason, published in 2011. The story follows a team of American soldiers who discover a long-lost airplane buried in the Icelandic wilderness during a NATO military exercise. The plane is believed to contain a valuable cargo, and the soldiers soon find themselves embroiled in a complex web of international conspiracy, political intrigue, and high-stakes espionage. The novel combines elements of a political thriller with a historical mystery, as the characters race to unravel the secrets of the buried airplane and the people who want to keep them hidden. Along the way, they confront personal demons, ethical dilemmas, and the harsh Icelandic landscape, which becomes a character in its own right. A lawyer sucked into an international conspiracy after being accused of a murder she didn't commit. Only chance of survival lies in uncovering the secret of an old German World War II airplane, discovered on Iceland's largest glacier.
