"A Time to Kill" which was released in 1996. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by John Grisham, and follows a young lawyer named Jake Brigance, played by Matthew McConaughey, who defends a black man named Carl Lee Hailey, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who is accused of murdering two white men who raped and attempted to kill his ten-year-old daughter. The trial becomes a media sensation and incites violent retribution and revenge from the Ku Klux Klan. The movie also stars Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey, and Kiefer Sutherland. There is no indication that this story has been adapted into a TV series or has multiple seasons. In Canton, Mississippi, a fearless young lawyer and his assistant defend a black man accused of murdering two white men who raped his ten-year-old daughter, inciting violent retribution and revenge from the Ku Klux Klan.
